I laughed a lot at flapsoft.
You will never know the ritual disembowelling of the poor middle management
by the ego mad 'directors'. Perhaps this affected our sanity? Never
mind it's all like a bad dream now!
See you at the reunion on the 17/9/98? The truth will out!

I was tickled to read your Country of Residence--England, U.K. Is there
another England? Enjoyed your page and am passing the URL to others in
the training field.

I haven't visited in a while and the new color scheme works great!
Text is easier to read, and yet the color makes the pages more lively
than a mere whitebackground. Great Job!

I am going to pass your site along to a couple of listservs and majordomos
so there may or may not be a heavier than usual flow of traffic and hits.
Tell you what, I am going to hold off until I hear from you, because I
would like to know how much traffic one of my posts is likely to generate.
I know of no other better way to track effectiveness, so I hope you will
be curious enough to join in this experiement.

Fantastically excellent reading - I have been in 4 IT companies and
have found very similar things to you. I think that bad management is
very common, not just in the computer industry. My dad is working for
a non-computer company and is also treated like an idiot, and has to handle
awful management. But, hey, I work because I have to!!!

Only the subject 'Bad Management' deserves a Nobel price!!!
Thanks,

Excellent. Rotten management is the most destructive element to productivity.
However you might like to E-mail me for method to reveal the machinations
of internal politics and deal with much of the disgusting behavior of
negative internal politics. It is in development, so feed back is the
motivation, not cash. Regards,

Great reading, just the thing I needed while considering
to leave the university to earn more money elsewhere.
That now may be not as god an idea as I thought?
I'll give the URL to a few friends who developed
software in larger companies in Germany and hope for more ...

There are two roles in society where people are expected
to do a complex and difficult task involving other people
without any sort of training; those roles are Parent and
Manager. These are also the roles that are, on the whole,
most poorly done and the roles where the most harm is done
to innocents just starting out in life. Sigh...

Brilliant BodgeCo. Love it. Knowing one of the characters
made this a marvellous read. Your next career is bound to
be journalistic. Thanks for the laughs.

Get back from holiday and update your site.
You know it makes sense.

A bit too complicated navigation. But these stories I have
seen here are beautiful (sorry, I had time to read one only
and look at another - maybe I will return here later...).

Having had bad managers at previous jobs, I empathize with you. This page is probably good therapy for you.
My two cents worth: Do please realize that there is a bright side to everything;
Even cruddy old cash-cows were at least a step ahead of what was available
before they were created. If you believe in what the company is trying
to do then by all means stick with them, weird co-workers or not. If you
don't care, though, you can't possibly do them or yourself any good. Don't
get stuck into a small niche, and make sure you stay up on new technologies,
especially COM and ActiveX in the Windows platform. Oh,
and read Dilbert; it's therapeutic too.

I seem to have worked for the same companies you have at one time or
another. I had no idea how widespread the subsidiaries of those companies
were. They seem to have different names than yours, but I can tell it
must be the same crew running them all. That, or it's what they teach
in management classes these days...

Great web site. Makes me feel like I'm not alone out there with the crap managers.
